Tomorrow I am off to the Bahamas! I am modeling for the Bleach Blanket Blackjack Tournament at Atlantis. It will be a weekend of much needed sunshine for sure!

I have updated my gallery with a set I did with Upheaval Designs in Portland a few months ago. I have also added a gold themed set that I did with Compass Rose Stuidos for East Coast Ink. Finally, I have added my mannequin set that I did with Peter Kim. These are all really great photos, so don't miss them!

When I get back from the Bahamas, I have about a trillion shoots and events booked. Car show season is about to kick off, so if you are local, be sure to say hello if you see me around.

And most exciting news-- I am going to get a 2009 calendar together! I had so many requests for one in 2008, I decided I should do one again. Mike Long from Portland, OR is going to shoot the whole thing and we are aiming to have it ready by late June. Stay tuned for more news!

3/13/2008

Spring is in the air! That means more outside shoots and less freezing toes. Hurray!

In this update I have added a whole new folder for a shoot I did with Vorpal Images to be featured in MF Magazine with Gasoline Galmour clothing and jewelry. The second set is by Compass Rose Studios. They are all of the images we shot for my Troop article in CK Deluxe last month.

Also this month Prick Magazine did a feature on me and I am also on the cover. Be sure to pick up your FREE copy today, or go to their website to view the full PDF article.

Sorry it has been so long since my last update, life has gotten crazy! I had my second surgery in December and it was a success! They fixed what they went in to fix. I have been having some new symptoms, but they think it may just be aftershocks from surgery. I am staying hopeful that it will all go away on its own.

In this update you will find a ton of new photos. The first group is from a shoot that I did with talented photographer Nicolle Clemetson and the lovely model Sarah Jane from Arizona. Jenna Anne Makeup was the MUA for that shoot. The second group was shot by Peter Kim in Vancouver, WA. This was my first shot at portraing a Chola so be sure to tell me how I did! And no, I didn't dye my hair...I'm still a redhead!

I also added more shots from the high key shoot that I did with Compass Rose Studios. And don't forget to pick up the February 2008 issue of CK Deluxe this month to find a story that they did about me and my troop support!

12/14/2007

Well it is the Christmas season again and I am freezing! I was supposed to go to LA this week, but life threw me for a loop and I had to cancel my trip. I am hoping to make it down sometime early next year.

I have just added a high key set I did with Compass Rose Studios to my gallery. You will also find a whole set that Caitlin and I shot at the beach for various companies in her folder.

I have been overwhelmed with emails and messages from people sending prayers and good thoughts my way for my second surgery. I can't tell you all how much it means to me. I read and love every last word I get. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Next year us bound to be bigger than the last!

11/05/2007

You guys are really going to love this update! I have added new photos to my gallery that Craig Thomson shot of me with my 1959 Galaxie and the 1936 Ford that Jonah built. I have also added a new set that I shot with Brianne Wills at Canon Beach in Oregon. It is much different from my previous work-- I hope you like it! Lastly I added some shots taken at the Rock the Runway fashion show that I did this summer.

My surgery didn't go quite as expected and they found more to fix than they bargained for (my heart even stopped during the procedure, yikes!). I am scheduled to go back in on December 21st and lets hope it will be for the last time! Our local rockabilly joint is throwing a benefit show for me and I would love to see you all there.

People have been asking me how they can donate if they can't make it to the show. You can donate here:

or make checks payable to Cherokee Meade and send to the address on my contact page. Thank you guys for all of your support. I am overwhelmed by all of your kindness!

10/12/2007

So I am finally getting my surgery over with! Phew! It is scheduled for today so hopefully by my next update I will be all better and ready to take over the world again!

I have updated my website with a shoot I did with Caitlin Gustin for Miss Hussy Clothing and Heartbreaker Fashion. I also added a brand new film noir set that I did with Compass Rose Studios .

I hope you love them! I have stockpiles of updates to come...

09/16/2007

Sorry it has taken me to long to get this new update to you guys…it has been a crazy month for Miss Cherry!

Surgery was postponed once again. I am now scheduled for Oct. 12th. Hopefully this time it happens. Ha!

I have updated my gallery with a ton of new photos. You will find two new galleries. The first new gallery is full of photos that I did with Lulu of Lunatech Photographics. We shot in this amazing mansion in the West Hills of Portland. The second folder is filled with photos that I did while I was at Viva Las Vegas this year. There is an assortment of wonderfully talented photographers in there.

I am working for a new company right now called Knuckleheads Clothing and I couldn’t be happier! They make super cute reproduction vintage for boys and girls. I am their official Public Relations gal and I will be manning their booth at Viva Las Vegas next year. Be sure to swing by the website and take a peek!

08/08/2007

I've got good news and bad news with this update.

The bad news is that my surgery was rescheduled at the last minute (I mean very last minute...I had my IV and everything!). I now have to wait until August 17th. Thanks for all of the kind letters and support. I am very ready for this whole thing to be over. I will be sure to give an update as soon as I am beginning my recovery.

The good news is that I have updated my gallery with a ton of new photos! In my gallery you will find three new sets. One set is by Caitlin Gustin and it was shot at The Sideshow Lounge in Portland, OR for Zombie Kitten skirts. The next set was shot by Diana Rae in her studio. The last set was shot by and for BabyGirl Boutique. It is full of their cute new bathing suits and lingerie separates by Lolita Girl and Steady Clothing.

Hope that gives you a few new things to feast your eyes on for now-- I will be sure to update one more time before surgery!

07/17/2007

I was debating whether or not to post a blog about it...but I figure I can use all of the positive thoughts I can get...and I don't want anyone getting insulted when I don't answer emails.

Sooo...

I am going in for heart surgery a week from today. It is not open heart, so no chest scars (isn't it funny that most people ask if my tattoos will be ruined before anything else? haha). They will go in through the artery in my groin, much like an angioplasty. I have some defective tissue in there that is causing a phantom heart beat and has been making me sick for a few years now. Hopefully they can go in, find it, and destroy it.

Don't worry, I am going to be just fine. Hopefully afterward I will be better than ever!

Yes, I am scared...but I have been really lucky to have the best friends a gal could ask for. I have had an overwhelming amount of support from my pals. Caitlin is even coming the day after the surgery to take care of me and keep me company (even though we live nearly two hours from each other). I also have a wonderful husband that has been there every step of the way through this battle, thank goodness!

My recovery should be fairly fast and I should be back and ready for action in no time. I figure it is a good excuse to veg out and rent all of the movies I haven't had time to watch. Anyone have any good book recommendations?

So really I guess I am just asking for people to send good thoughts my way next tuesday. And also, if I don't return emails and comments...I apologize. I probably won't be able to get to my computer for at least a few days afterward. But I really do appreciate all of the support I get...

Here's to a new and improved Cherry!

06/30/2007

I got a letter in the mail last week from a very sweet man in the military named Mark. I thought I would share as it got me all choked up with pride. It is letters like this that inspire me to keep doing what I do. Thank you Mark, you have no idea how much your letter meant to me! Click on the thumbnails to read the letter!

I have updated my gallery with more photos that I did with Caitlin Gustin for The Diva Pinup. She has debuted her new line of roses endorsed by the queen of pinup herself, Miss Bettie Page. I was honored to be able to model them for her site. I also added some black and white photos to my Studio folder that were shot by Caitlin as well.

This month is going to be wild for this little gal. I am booked solid with shoots and events. On July 26th I will be in the hospital undergoing a heart procedure so please send your good thoughts my way. I will be back on my feet in no time and up to my usual hijinks for sure!

On July 20th you can catch me walking the catwalk in the Rock the Runway show in Portland, OR. The following day, July 21st, I will be the trophy girl for the Shine and Show motorcycle show. It is a benefit for the Doernbecher's Children's Hospital so be sure to come out and show your support. It will be held at the Eagle's Lodge on Hawthorne in Portland, OR. See you there!

06/10/2007

This week it is my birthday and boy what a beautiful time to turn 25! I have already been graced with Happy Birthdays and well wishes, and to those of you gracing me, I thank you.

In this update you will find a ton of new photos. In Caitlin Gustin's section of the gallery I have added some photos that I did with her for Lucky 11 in the studio. You will also find a black and white set entitled "1933" that we did a few months ago.

And I have added a new folder to my gallery for candid shots. I will be adding my own personal photos as well as fan photos that are sent to me. So if you see me out and about this summer, be sure to get a photo and send it my way. It will go right up!

I would also like to thank everyone that has donated time, money, and other items to my military project. I am working on a few monster packages and I know the boys are going to be thrilled. Without your support, I would never have been able to do this on such a large scale. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! And a special thanks to Ol' Skool Rodz/CK Deluxe for their extremely generous donations. I am proud to support a magazine with such a stand up staff!

05/18/2007

Last year a Marine, Joe, contacted me and asked for me to send a photo and letter. So began my correspondence with Joe and his Marines. I began to send regular care packages with photos and letters.

Within the last few months I have been contacted by several other boys in different branches of the military stationed all over the world asking for photos and letters. I cannot say how honored this makes me feel. There is nothing better than getting a letter or a photo from boys in the military thanking me for helping boost morale.

I only wish that I could do more! I try to send out regular care packages (especially during the holidays) stuffed full of candy, photos, magazines, books, letters, and anything else that I can come up with-- I have even been known to send out a log or two of Copenhagen .

I have also gotten several emails from people who are onto my cause and would also like to help. So I am thinking about starting this on a much larger scale and sending larger packages to our boys that are fighting for our freedom in faraway lands.

If anyone would like to contribute to my care packages, I would include your name and contribution in my letters. I have currently "adopted" 3 groups of men (2 of Marines, and 1 in the Air Force).

Not sure if this idea will take off, but I am just trying to do my part from the homefront.

I am offering two ways to help. You can either donate care package items to:

Cherry Dollface
PO Box 598
Ariel, WA 98603

Or, you can donate to the fund that will go towards care packages:

Thank you to everyone for your help and support. You have no idea how much this means to the boys! I will be sure to share every single letter and return package that I get!

05/17/2007

The sun is out and I couldn't be happier! The summer always brings out the best in me.

I have updated Caitlin Gustin's section of my gallery with photos that I did for Hot Couture and Classy Dame. Also, you can catch a glimpse of me in the coverage of the 55th CTA Reunion in this month's issue of CK Deluxe.

Last week I got this letter from a very sweet mom and it gave me a good chuckle. I hope you guys find it as cute as I did:

"I just had to share how obsessed my step-son is with you! I think it all stared with your recent cover of Deluxe. He just turned six and is reluctantly taking an interest in girls. When ever I'm on the computer he asks to look at your photos and he's always looking your issue of Deluxe. When I told him I meet you briefly in Vegas he thought that was the coolest thing ever! The best part was today when he asked me if I could see if "Cupcake" could come to his t-ball game. I, of course, had no idea what he was talking about. Up until this point you were just "That girl in the car magazine". Finally I figured out what he was talking about and had to explain your name to him. When his dad confronted him on this "crush" he just told us, "Noooo, I just like her tattoos!" That was about the biggest lie I had ever heard!

Take care,

Lydia"

04/25/2007

I have finally recovered from Viva and boy what a fantastic weekend! I worked with great people and met a lot of sweet fans. Thank you to everyone who stopped and said hello, gave a kind word, or took pictures. I felt like I was running around like a crazy lady all weekend, but I sure did get my money's worth!

I have updated my gallery with photos I shot with Brianne Wills at the Jupiter Hotel in Portland, OR and also a set I shot with Craig Thomson last summer at the Hot Rod-a-Rama for Felony Fliers motorcycles.

Also below you can check out the painting that the fabulous Miss Susan Heidi did of me based on a photo by Caitlin Gustin. Not only is she amazingly talented, she is also as sweet as pie!

03/30/2007

Well I am off to Viva Las Vegas this week. I hope to see plenty of familiar faces as well as new ones. If you see me walking around, please stop and say hello! I am going to be working with a lot of talented photographers while I am there so I will have some fabulous updates to share when I get back.

I have updated the Caitlin Gustin gallery with photos from our last DivaPinup shoot and also a shoot I did for my Marines in Iraq. I hope you enjoy them!

Also, if you have not gotten my calendar yet and you still want it, I will be selling them at Viva for $12. Just grab me if you want one!

03/09/2007

02/18/2007

Love is in the air! Happy Valentines day to everyone...

I have updated my gallery with photos that I did for Hale Loke Hair Creations and Heart Breaker Fashion. Both sets were done by Caitlin Gustin on the Williamette River in Portland, OR. I sure am missing that sunshine!

Viva Las Vegas is less than two months away and we are getting geared up for another great year. I still have limited openings for shoots, so if you are interested, please contact me!

2/01/2006

I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays, and Happy 2007! I had my best year yet in 2006, so hopefully the luck continues... Thank you to those of you that have been buying my calendar. They have been selling like crazy this last month! I only have a handful left and after they are gone, I am not reprinting, so get them while they last... I have updated my gallery page with a shoot I did last summer with Caitlin Gustin at Lake Merwin. It sure makes me miss the warm weather! I sent my Marines a package last month and I got the best return package a girl could hope for. They sent the certificate below with the flag that was flying at their base in Iraq. They also sent me a flight suit patch with my name and blood type. And the photo is all of them with my photos. Notice the guy in the pink scarf? Ha! I sent that too. The flag flying in the background is the one they sent. What a great bunch of guys! Joe is the one to the left of the pink scarf man. He is the one I corresepond with. And here is his letter:

Cherry & Jonah,

We got a resupply last night while in the field and ya'lls package came in, thank you. We are sitting in our hummer at the moment on a no name road in bad guy country enjoying some fresh Copenhagen, candy, and tattoo mags… We are nearing the end of a long operation and are fixin to head back "inside the wire" to get a hot shower and some hot food. Over the past week we've had a ton of IED finds, it's been awesome. And we've only been blown up twice with no injuries… Anyhow, just wanted to hand jam you a thank you while we are enjoying the stuff you sent. - The charm is already on my dogtags - -The scarf is in the ziplock to save the scent, I let the Marines sniff it and told them to "Smell America." One Marine said "America smells fuckin' good." - The calendar will go in the office when we get back. Ooh I almost forgot, I can't really say what me and my boys all do but the new Transformers movie coming out this summer has a vehicle that we use. It's a monster of a vehicle called a Buffalo, it has a massive robotic arm on it. We are all stoked that a vehicle we use is going to be in the movies and it is a decepticon. That rocks pretty hard. You guys have sent us so much awesome stuff, please let us know if there is anything you guys ever need. Note: That's no joshing, you've got a platoon of US Marines always on standby… …Take care and thanks again.

1stLt J.R.

Also, last week I got a delightful email I thought I would share. It sure makes me proud to be an all-American gal:

"Cherry,

My name is Joe; Im a platoon commander with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, Combat Logistics Battalion 31 currently stationed in Okinawa, Japan.

A few of my more "inked" Marines are pretty smitten with you and in turn has pretty much turned all 35 of my Boys onto you. A few of your pinups grace the office, youre not only their favorite model but also your name has become somewhat a term used for motivation. During workouts the common heard things is, "You can't be giving up, what if Cherry was here" or "Do it for Cherry"....

With that being said, were gearing up to go back out to sea for awhile on Navy ships and for a Marine that means boredom like no other. I was wondering if it possible to get a specialty picture made, a letter, or anything to surprise my guys with while we are under way and moral is taking a nose dive. I don't know if you've been hit up for this before and have a standard response but if there is anything that would be great.

Thanks....

1stLt J.R. Apkarian"

I most certainly will be sending Joe and his boys something special!

If you haven't seen them, you must- they are wonderful! Also, I have a shoot later this week for Mode Merr clothing that I am very excited about. Some of these new pieces are just fantastic. I did a shoot this week for a mailer that The Mercury is doing (local alterna-newspaper) and once I get those shots they will go up as well. I have a lot of shoots coming up, so keep checking back for new sets of photos!
